Congratulations to Greta Gerwig who makes history with Barbie!

I am very excited to share this information with our DarlyVision film community.

Since the release of the Guru Muni Being and Becoming film, there has been so many exciting films to discuss. In its third week of release, Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig, the film about Barbie has become the second film this year to cross the billion-dollar mark globally. The film is about Barbie and Ken who are having the time of their lives in the colourful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon

discover the joys and perils of living among humans.

It was great to watch Margot Robbie as Barbie, and Emma Mackey, America Ferrera, and the fabulous Issa Rae. Well worth the watch as it is highly imaginative in looking at gender issues and as amusing as it is, it does highlight some real issues.

According to the New York Times, Barbie for Gerwig, makes her the 29th director and the first solo female director, to join the billion dollar movie club.
