This documentary film Guru Muni-Being and Becoming, is an attempt to express the philosophy of Sree Narayana Guru, through film, using Guru Muni Narayana Prasad’s life story. This is the first time a documentary feature film has been made on a Guru from the Narayana Gurukula that we are aware of.
A young village boy in the middle of the 20th Century, having a deep longing and desire to become a disciple of a great Guru of his time, facing many challenges in fulfilling that desire. The challenges faced by him presents the same difficulties most of us face today, in pursuing our dreams.
Guru Muni Narayana Prasad was born in 1938 in Kerala. He travelled widely teaching Indian philosophy and authored around 100 books in the Malayalam language and 26 books in English, which includes commentaries on the 10 major Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and all the philosophical works of Narayana Guru, along with many independent works and translations.
